The regular meeting was held starting at 6:00 p.m.
Superintendent Bergstrom presented “Superintendent Spotlight” certificates to staff and students throughout the district who have shown outstanding effort this school year.
Mrs. Amber Bushinski, who will be teaching technology/story time at the elementary next year, presented her vision/plans for creating a “Dynamic Library” in the elementary. She is looking forward to transforming some of the current library space into a technology hub, integrating tools like makerspaces to combine reading and technology.
The school year calendar for 2026-27 was approved by the board. The county wide calendar sets the first and last day of school as well as holiday breaks and professional development days. Our district’s calendar committee also sets dates for student orientations, grading periods, parent/teacher conferences, etc.
Because the 2026 School Building and Site Bond proposal was approved by voters in the recent May election, the board approved the Authorizing Resolution to proceed with the proposal from Stifel, Nicolaus & Company to act as underwriter for the issuance and sale of the bonds.
The Jackson County Intermediate School District preliminary budget for the 2027 fiscal year was presented to the board. The board supported the Resolution in Approval for the budget.
