The regular meeting was held starting at 6:00 p.m.

Superintendent Bergstrom presented “Superintendent Spotlight” certificates to staff and students throughout the district who have shown outstanding effort this school year.

Mrs. Kristin Flick, board Vice President, was recognized for receiving a Level 3 Award of Distinction from the Michigan Association of School Boards, for completing CBA classes and education credits.

Superintendent Bergstrom informed the board that the purchase of 250 Chromebooks was completed due to an anticipated price increase.  The decision to purchase now was validated, as the price of the Chromebooks was increased $33,000 by the following week.

The board was given a copy of the Strategic Plan Year 3 Implementation of objectives and activities, as planned by the Strategic Plan Committee in February.

Superintendent Bergstrom presented the first reading of NEOLA Vol. 40, No. 2 policy updates.  The board will approve the updates after the second reading in May.

The permanent hiring of Mrs. Whitney LeBaron as a kindergarten teacher and the hiring of Mrs. Krista Scharpenberg for the high school math vacancy for the 2026-27 school year was approved by the board.

Teacher probationary/tenure recommendations for the 2026-27 school year were approved by the board, as recommended by the building principals.

The retirement of Mrs. Karla Kughn, effective June 30th, was accepted with deep regret.
