Hanover-Horton’s JV Invitational was held Saturday in both the high school and middle school. The Comets finished pool play with a 5-1 record earning the second seed. Hanover-Horton defeated North Adams in the first two games 25-9 and 25-21. The Comets then defeated Parma Western’s Freshman team 25-23 and 25-15. The Comets split with Jonesville losing the first game 22-25 but bouncing back to win the second game 25-14. Western’s Freshman team advanced to set up a rematch in the quarter-finals with the Comets. Hanover-Horton easily took the first game and was leading early in the second when the Panthers caught a roll to score 9 straight points and eventually take the second game. The third game was a back and forth affair until Western took the final 3 points to move on to the semi’s 15-12. Jonesville defeated Western’s Freshman team and faced Western’s JV team in the finals.
