A large crowd turned out for Comets Homecoming 2017 but the Napoleon Pirates spoiled the festivities with a 40-13 victory over Hanover-Horton. Napoleon used a balanced attack to account for 532 yards. The Pirates opened the scoring with a 6 yard TD pass with 3:10 remaining in the first quarter. The Comets marched right back down the field and scored on a Ty Lapshan 13 yard run. The Comets missed the conversion and trailed 7-6 after the 1st. Napoleon controlled the 2nd quarter scoring 19 points to take a 26-6 advantage into halftime. The Comets last score was an 18 yard run by Colin Zieman and Trent Hocter converted the extra point.

Frank Bird was 6-13 for 86 yards passing. Jeremy VanEpps was 1-3 for 4 yards. Lapshan led the Comets rushing attack with 102 yards.Dakota Manee had 2 receptions for 50 yards.

the 3-2 Comets are home again next week against Grass Lake
